Pessimists in D minor
So well, farewell, this is my second and last post in the year. Besides tons of all sorts of art production, laughts and dark days, i could finally find something useful to fit on this merzbau of mine. 7 days ago we got a car and went to see the overing 29 Sao Paulo Art Bienal. There was a video, lost in the art crowd, trying to survive in the sad competition for space; to live in the world´s over-satured-information-field we are living on. So many models to see: a bait, a meme, a thing, a need, an over, ignorancies. In Ronald Duarte´s video, "O Que Rola você vê" (what fucking happens you can see - free translation by me) a water truck baths the streets of a city in Rio de Janeiro with blood. Maybe it´s just guache dissolved in water or something cheaper. Who knows. But it´s a simple video, with something important on it.
11 months since my last contribuition for the world. Just can expect nothing more. Duarte said on the video: he tried to make an image of something too obvious, to make us really "see" it. The pessimist philosophy is something misunderstood. It´s not about seeing the cup 50% empty against something 50% full. It´s a deep seeing of the world, it´s not going for life for simple to be, to laugh, to make sex or to project yourself a champion in the future.
